GREGORY VACA | Founder & President

Gregory Vaca is the Founder and President of GRAVA Properties, a real estate development and investment firm focused on creating vibrant, sustainable communities throughout the Greater Hartford Area. A graduate of Columbia University, Greg founded GRAVA in 2020 with a vision to bring the best ideas in urban development from around the world to the communities he knows and cares about most.

After an accomplished 14-year career with Tishman Speyer, Greg returned home to Greater Hartford with a desire to build the kind of thoughtful urban infill projects he had admired in cities around the world. His work at GRAVA is driven by a belief that well-designed, mixed-use and multifamily developments can strengthen neighborhoods, create new opportunities, and enhance the communities where people live, work, and connect.

Before founding GRAVA, Greg held senior roles with Tishman Speyer in New York City, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversaw the firm’s $1 billion Brazil portfolio and developed broad expertise across acquisitions, development, commercial leasing, property and asset management, dispositions, and fundraising.

Today, Greg leads GRAVA with a deeply personal commitment to placemaking and community building. Through ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, urban infill, and Transit-Oriented Projects, he is working to help shape a more vibrant and connected Greater Hartford—while giving back to and investing in the communities that helped shape him.
